Titian
Tiziano Vecelli (Italian: Tiziano Vecelli or Tiziano Vecellio, 1488 (some say 1490) - August 27, 1576), often referred to as Titian (Latin: Titianus), was a representative painter of the Venetian School of the late Renaissance in Italy. Titian was born in Cadore in the Alps in northeastern Italy. When he was 10 years old, he followed his elder brother to Venice and studied painting in the studio of Giovanni Bellini. He was a classmate of the painter Giorgione. In Titian's time, he was known as the "Sun among the Stars" and was one of the most talented painters in Italy. He also specialized in portraits, landscapes and historical paintings of mythological and religious themes. His use of color not only influenced Italian painters during the Renaissance, but also had a profound impact on Western art.
