George Eastman (English: George Eastman, July 12, 1854 - March 14, 1932), American inventor, founder of Kodak Company and inventor of film. Eastman was born in New York State in the United States in 1854. He had already devoted himself to social work as a boy and held low-level positions in insurance and banking. Later, he concentrated on developing photographic equipment and invented a film coated with a layer of dry gelatin in 1878. Prior to this, photographic negatives were wet films. In 1879, Eastman invented a milk coating machine and began mass production of dry films. In 1881, Eastman founded the Eastman Dry Plate Manufacturing Company, the predecessor of Kodak. In 1886, Eastman developed roll-type photosensitive film. In the same year, a new camera was also successfully developed. On March 14, 1932, Eastman shot himself in his home in Rochester, New York.
