Marion Gordon "Pat" Robertson (English: Marion Gordon "Pat" Robertson, March 22, 1930 - June 8, 2023) was an American media tycoon and former Southern Baptist pastor who supported conservative Christian ideas. He once served as the president of Ruijin University and the chairman of Shiboen (Christian Broadcasting Network). Robertson is the founder of several institutions, companies and a university: including CBN, ABC Family, Ruijin University, the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), the American Christian Alliance, Operation Mercy International Relief and Development, and CBN Asia. He is also a best-selling author and his CBN Christian news and television programs are broadcast live via satellite on ABC Family and broadcast worldwide through CBN affiliates throughout the country. His father is U.S. Senator Timothy Robertson. Robertson is a Southern Baptist and has been active in preaching with the denomination for many years. However, he also holds charismatic theories and is not a traditional Southern Baptist. He became the Republican candidate for the 1988 presidential election, but failed. He became a recognized and influential and controversial face of conservative Christianity in the United States. Robertson passed away at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia on June 8, 2023, at the age of 93
