Eleanor Roosevelt
Anna Eleanor Roosevelt was an American politician, diplomat, and human rights activist. The wife of the 32nd U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Roosevelt experienced four presidential terms from March 1933 to April 1945. Therefore, Eleanor Roosevelt is also the longest-serving first lady in the United States. After World War II, she served as the first ambassador of the United States to the United Nations and led the drafting of the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights. She is also a feminist and a strong advocate of protecting human rights. President Harry S. Truman called her "the First Lady of the World" when he praised her human rights achievements.
