His first five albums were The College Dropout (2004), Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), 808s & Heartbreak (2008) and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, 2010) not only won many awards and critical acclaim, but was also a commercial success. "Heartbreak Beat" became his third album to debut at the top of the U.S. charts in its first week and continue to top the US charts, while his fifth album "My Bizarre Fantasy" received widespread acclaim and was selected into multiple year-end best album lists. Yay also runs his own record label "GOOD Music". His iconic mascot and trademark is the Dropout Bear, a teddy bear that has appeared on three albums, several single covers, and in music videos. Jay established his reputation as a producer at Roc-A-Fella Records, where he produced Jay Z's album "The Blueprint" as well as singles for hit artists including Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and Jenna Jackson. His production style began with using high-pitched vocal samples (sampling) from soul songs, plus his own drum beats and instrumentation. However, on subsequent albums, Yay displayed more influences ranging from 1970s rhythm and blues to synth pop and classical music. "About.com" owned by the New York Times ranked Ye eighth on its list of "Top 50 Hip-Hop Producers." On May 16, 2008, Ye was selected as the "Hottest Rapper" of the year by MTV. Ye also announced at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards that he would run for the 2020 U.S. presidential election. After losing the 2020 election, he announced his candidacy
