Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (English: Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, October 25, 1984 -), whose stage name is Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter and television show judge. Perry is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with sales of more than 151 million records worldwide. Known for her influence on pop music and camp-inspired fashion, she has been hailed as the "Queen of Camp" by Vogue and Rolling Stone. Perry was the world's highest-paid female singer in 2015 and 2018, and was named one of the greatest pop stars of the 21st century by Billboard. In 2001, Perry signed with Red Mountain Records and released her debut studio album, Katie Hudson, which was commercially unsuccessful. The following year Red Mountain Records folded, and she moved to Los Angeles to venture into secular music and began working with producers Glenn Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin. After being abandoned by Island Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, Perry signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007. In June 2008, Perry became an instant hit with the single "Hot and Cold" from his pop-rock style second album "The Party" and the controversial gay-themed single "Kissed a Girl". Her third album, Days of Our Lives, broke into disco territory and spawned the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "California Girls," "Fireworks," "Alien Breed" and "The Weekend," as well as the number three single "You're the One Leaving." In March 2012, she released a reissue of her album "The Sweethearts: The Complete Records of Sweethearts", which spawned the singles "Be Yourself" and "Absolutely Awake". His fourth album "Prism" was released in 2013 and was influenced by pop and dance music. She became the first female singer to have multiple videos with 1 billion views on Vevo, among which the videos for the songs "Listen to Me Roar" and "Dark Horse" each received more than 4 billion views. In songs such as "Fireworks" and "Listen to My Roar", she emphasized the themes of self-improvement and self-esteem. Known for her quirky and hilarious personal style, Perry's fashions incorporate bright colors and food themes. Her concerts feature elaborate stages and costumes. On August 28, 2020, "Smile" was officially released. Perry has received numerous awards, including four Guinness World Records, and was listed by Forbes from 2011 to 2015.
