Robert Capa
Robert Capa (English: Robert Capa, October 22, 1913 - May 25, 1954), formerly known as Friedmann Endre Ernő (Hungarian: Friedmann Endre Ernő), also known as André Friedman (André Friedmann), a Hungarian-American photojournalist, was one of the most famous war photojournalists in the 20th century. He participated in the coverage of five major wars that took place in the 20th century: including the Spanish Civil War, the Anti-Japanese War in China, the European Theater of World War II, the First Middle East War, and the First Indo-China War. During World War II, Capa followed the U.S. Army and covered military operations in North Africa and Italy, the Battle of Omaha Beach in Normandy, and the liberation of Paris. Capa is considered one of the masters of the "Decisive Moment". His works reproduce the cruelty and violence of war through condensed moments, which are prominently displayed in several of his masterpieces. In 1947, he and Bresson, the advocate of the "Decisive Moment", founded the famous Magnum Photo Agency, becoming the world's first cooperative organization of freelance photographers.
