Henry Matthysse
Henri-Emile Benoit Matisse, French painter, sculptor and printmaker, founder of Fauvism. Matisse, along with Picasso and Marcel Duchamp, brought great changes to the plastic arts in the early 20th century. He is also the leader of the Fauves. Fauvism advocated the theory of Impressionism and contributed to the first art movement of the 20th century. The use of bold and flat colors and informal lines is Matisse's style. His playful structures, vivid colors and light themes are what made him famous and made him one of the most important figures in modern art.
