Jeff Koons (English: Jeff Koons, /kuːnz/, January 21, 1955 -) is an American artist. His works are often made of extremely monotonous things - such as stainless steel skeletons and mirror-finished balloon beasts, often dyed with bright colors. Koons's works are sold around the world, holding at least one auction price record for a work by a living artist. Critics tend to have two opinions about him. Some believe that his works are avant-garde and have important art historical value. Some think it's kitsch - sensationalism, based on purely self-serving self-promotion. Koons claims that his works contain no hidden meanings.
