Johann Strauss The Younger
Johann Baptist Strauss II (German: Johann Baptist Strauß II, October 25, 1825 - June 3, 1899), commonly known as Johann Strauss the Younger because of his father's name, was an Austrian composer best known for his waltz works, such as "The Blue Danube". Johann Strauss was the son of the famous musician Johann Strauss Sr. His two younger brothers, Joseph Strauss and Eduard Strauss, were also famous musicians. But little John is the most accomplished and famous one in the entire family. Known as the "King of Waltz", he made a huge contribution to the popularity of Vienna waltz in the 19th century. In addition, the artistic achievements of his works greatly surpass those of his predecessors (such as Joseph Lanner and Johann Strauss the Elder), and they are also more well-known. Not only his waltzes, but also some of his polkas, marches and operettas are also quite famous.
