Amuro Namie (Japanese: Amuro Namie/Amuro Namie, Romanized: Amuro Namie, Ryukyuan: Amuro Namie/Amuru Namikue , Romanized: Amuru Namikuwē; September 20, 1977 -) Japanese female singer, born in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, is a Ryukyu tribe with a quarter of Italian ancestry (the mother is of mixed Ryukyu and Italian descent). She has titles such as "Queen of Japanese Pop Music" and "Japanese Diva". In 1992, she debuted as a member of the girl group Super Monkey's. In 1995, Amuro, who was under 18 years old, joined the Komuro family and released a solo record. She immediately became a super queen in the Japanese music scene and started a fashion trend called "Amuro Phenomenon". Together with Tomomi Hanahara, she was the most representative fashion leader in East Asia in the second half of the 1990s. She even has broad popularity around the world. Namie Amuro's music works have sold nearly 40 million copies in Japan so far. From her debut to the eve of her retirement, she had more than 8 million-selling music works. She is one of the best-selling Asian female singers from the end of the 20th century to the present. The record company is Dimension Point, a subsidiary of Avex, and the management company is Stella88, a studio established by himself. On September 20, 2017, Amuro announced that he would retire on September 16, 2018, the 26th anniversary of his solo debut. According to statistics from "Nikkan Sports" newspaper, Amuro's concerts in the past 25 years have attracted about 5 million people, and a total of 716 concert tours have been held. Looking at Amuro's 26-year singing career, she is the only female singer and solo singer who can have singles in the top ten for 23 consecutive years. Amuro, who became Japan's super diva at the age of 19, also faced a lot of pressure in her private life, such as her mother's murder, divorce, and being a single mother. Amuro is considered one of the most successful singers in the history of Japanese pop music. Her single "CAN YOU CELEBRATE?" also ranks as the highest-selling single in the history of Japanese female singers with nearly 2.3 million copies. This record is still maintained to this day; and this single is also a very popular wedding music used by modern Japanese.
