Zhang Lei (December 12, 1972 -), a native of Zhumadian, Henan Province, is a Chinese businessman and investor. Zhang Lei was born on December 12, 1972, in a dual-income family next to the train station in Zhumadian District, Henan Province. His father is a civil servant in the Foreign Trade Bureau and his mother is a lawyer. When he was a child, Zhang Lei's grades were mediocre, but he was good at sports. He liked playing football and swimming. Because a relative in the family worked in the Zhumadian library, his busy parents placed him with the relative, where he read many books, including martial arts novels, prose poems, biographies, and academic books. Among them, a sentence in "The Quiet Don" impressed him the most: "People are deciding their own and others' fates there, but I am herding horses here. How can this be? I should escape, otherwise I will sink deeper and deeper and be unable to extricate myself." Because he lived in a train station On the other hand, Zhang Lei has been in business since he was a child, setting up street stalls at train stations, running "mobile book lending stations", and renting comic books (little people's books) to tourists. In order to expand business, he also launched "bundled sales" and "package services" - rent 5 books and you will get water and snacks. During the summer vacation of his senior year of high school, Zhang Lei's business of renting and selling books expanded to trains on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, and he formed a small team of five or six people. In 1990, Zhang Lei graduated from Zhumadian Senior High School and was admitted to the Department of Finance and Economics of Renmin University of China (now the School of Finance and Finance), where he was the top scorer in liberal arts in the Henan Province College Entrance Examination. Before going to college, Zhang Lei went to a construction site to work as a bricklayer for a month in order to experience life.
