Taro Kono

Kono Taro (Japanese: Kono Taro/ Taro, Romanized: Kōno Tarō, born January 10, 1963, is a politician from the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan. He has served as Minister of Digital Affairs, Minister in Charge of Administrative Reform, Minister in Charge of Vaccination Promotion, Minister in Charge of National Civil Service, Minister in Charge of the Cabinet Office (Okinawa and Northern Countermeasures, Regulatory Reform), Minister of Foreign Affairs (145th and 146th generation), Minister of Defense Minister of Health (20th generation), Chairman of the National Public Security Commission (90th generation), Minister with Special Responsibilities in the Cabinet Office (Regulatory Reform, Disaster Prevention, Consumers and Food Safety (3rd Abe’s 1st Cabinet Reform)), Director of Administrative Reform Promotion Headquarters of the Liberal Democratic Party, Acting Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party, Deputy Minister of Justice (8th generation), Administrative Officer of the Minister of General Affairs and Affairs (In charge of personnel, administrative management, administrative evaluation, grants, statistics and other related functions of the old General Affairs Office (the first Koizumi Cabinet)), chairman of the House of Representatives Final Accounts Administrative Monitoring Committee, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee and other positions. He has been elected to the House of Representatives for eight consecutive terms since 1996. His father is Yohei Kono, a former president of the Liberal Democratic Party, deputy prime minister and foreign minister. His younger brother is Jiro Kono, the representative director and president of Nippon Terminal Co., Ltd. His grandfather is Ichiro Kono, a former deputy prime minister and minister in charge of the Tokyo Olympics. His great-uncle is Kenzo Kono, who was the former Speaker of the Senate.
