Noda Yoshihiko (Japanese: Noda Yoshihiko/Noda Yoshihiko, Romanized: Noda Yoshihiko, born on May 20, 1957, is a politician from Japan's Nakamichi Reform United Party. He was born in Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture. He is currently a member of the House of Representatives (elected for 7 terms). He is the first co-representative, representative of the Standing Committee of the Democratic Party (9th generation), and representative of the Constitutional Democratic Party (3rd generation). He also served as Finance Minister (14th generation), Chairman of the Government Tax System Investigation Committee, and Chairman of the National Assembly Countermeasures Committee of the Democratic Party (7th and 10th generations). Noda entered politics in 1987 and became a member of the House of Representatives in 1993 (losing one term from 1996 to 2000). In 1998, he joined the newly established second-generation Democratic Party; later he served as the Japanese Representative from 2011 to 2012. The Prime Minister is the second youngest prime minister (54 years old) among Japan's post-war prime ministers, second only to Shinzo Abe (52 years old in 2006) when he became prime minister. He is the last prime minister and representative (party leader) of the Democratic Party before he stepped down from power in 2012. After the Democratic Party was reorganized into the Democratic Progressive Party, he became a powerful figure in the party and became the president and second secretary-general of the Hanaichi Association (Noda-gumi), a faction within the party. He joined the reorganized Constitutional Democratic Party in 2020 and was elected as a representative in 2024. Before the 2026 House of Representatives election, he led an alliance with the Komeito Party to form the Nakamichi Reform Alliance. He and Komeito representative Saito Tetsuo were transferred as co-representatives of the new party to compete with the Liberal Democratic Party's ruling alliance; however, the Nakamichi Reform Alliance failed miserably in the election, and both he and Saito resigned from their representative positions after the election.
