Gao Zhengyue (January 1951-), born in Luquan, Hebei Province, is a politician and diplomat of the People's Republic of China. In 1975, he graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University and entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. In the same year, he went to Mexico College for further studies. Since 1978, he has served in the Embassy in Argentina, the Department of Americas and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy in Nicaragua, the Department of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy in Chile, the Embassy in Bolivia, and later served as counselor at the Embassy in Bolivia. In 2000, he served as counselor of the Latin American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In August 2002, he served as the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Barcelona. In February 2007, he served as the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Peru. In August 2009, he served as the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Colombia. In September 2011, the ambassador to Colombia resigned.
