Truman Garcia Capote (English: Truman Garcia Capote, pronounced /ˈtruːmən kəˈpoʊti/; September 30, 1924 - August 25, 1984), born Truman Streckfus Persons, was an American writer who wrote many classic literary works, including the novellas "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "In Cold Blood". In "In Cold Blood", Capote pioneered the "true crime" documentary literature, which is recognized as a milestone in popular culture. His tortuous and bizarre process of investigating the truth of the story for writing "In Cold Blood" was also filmed by Hollywood into biographical films "Colbert: Cold-Blooded Confessions" and "Colbert: Cold-Blooded Infamy".
