Wei Xueren (1899-1987), courtesy name Leshan, was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province and was an expert in audio-visual education in China. Graduated from Jinling University in 1922. In 1925, he received a scholarship from the Lowe Foundation and went to the Graduate School of the University of Chicago to study physics. In 1928, he received his doctorate. From 1930 to 1946, he served as the first dean of the School of Science at Jinling University.
