Xu Yong (1964-), male, Han nationality, native of Beijing, Chinese entrepreneur, one of the founders of Baidu. He studied in the Department of Biology of Peking University in 1982. After completing his master's degree in biology in 1989, he received a doctoral scholarship from the Rockefeller Foundation to study in the United States. He completed his PhD at Texas A&M University and then served as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. At the end of 1999, he returned to China with venture capital and co-founded Baidu Network Technology Co., Ltd. with his friend Robin Li. Left the company in 2004.
