Philip Roth
Philip Milton Roth (English: Philip Milton Roth, March 19, 1933 - May 22, 2018) was an American novelist and writer. His representative works include the novel "Goodbye, Columbus", which describes the life of American Jews, and won the recognition of the National Book Award. Philip Roth's novels are often set in Newark, New Jersey, and are strongly autobiographical. The plots contain philosophical ideas, blur the line between reality and fiction, have a "soft and delicate style", and explore Jewish and American identity and life. He gradually became famous with "Portnoy's Complaint" in 1969. This novel was also selected as one of Time Magazine's 100 best novels.
