Jiang Digui — biography

Kang Je-kyu (Korean: Kang Je-gyu, November 27, 1962-) is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. Kang Je-gyu has been highly praised for "changing the model of the Korean film industry" for his three films, including his debut film "The Separation of the World", "The Spy" which pioneered the Korean film renaissance, and "The Flying Taegeuk Flag" which attracted more than 10 million viewers. After the success of "The Flying Taegeukgi", he went to Hollywood and planned to produce the science fiction film "Jonas", but was rejected by American film companies on the grounds of seriousness and complex content. He was unable to break through the barriers of Hollywood. At the end of 2011, it returned after seven years with the Korean-Chinese-Japanese co-production film "Day of the Landing", which cost 30 billion won to create (28 billion won in net production costs). However, it received regrettable box office results and low ratings from the audience. In 2014, Jiang Digui joined the "2014 Master Micro Movie" produced by Youku, where he filmed "Love", which was the second love-themed work after "The Separation of Music".
