Kaka (Portuguese: Kaká), full name Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite (Portuguese: Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, April 22, 1982 -), is a retired Brazilian male professional football player and one of the Brazilian superstars in world football. Mainly an offensive midfielder, he played for Orlando City in the Major Leagues before retiring and was also the captain of the team. Kaká was the starting attacking midfielder of the Brazilian team in the 2006 World Cup and 2010 World Cup. He reached the peak of his career at Italian Serie A club AC Milan and helped AC Milan win the 2007 UEFA Champions League. In the same year, he won the Ballon d'Or and World Footballer of the Year. Kaká is known for his gentleness and kindness, and has only been sent off three times. In the 2010 World Cup, he was wrongly given a red card due to a diving incident by Cote d'Ivoire player Kader Keita. The international media accused him of being wronged. In addition, although he has endorsed many model advertisements, he has never been involved in any scandals. He is also a well-known Christian in the football world, so his public image is excellent, and he is the ambassador of the United Nations World Food Program. In 2008, he was selected as one of the 100 most influential celebrities by Time Magazine. In the summer of 2009, Kaka was transferred to La Liga giants Real Madrid for a sky-high transfer fee of 68.5 million euros. This was the second most expensive player in football history at the time, second only to Zidane's 78 million euros, which was transferred to Real Madrid. But during his four years at Real Madrid, Kaká only made limited contributions to Real Madrid due to injuries and the outstanding performance of another main player Ozil. In 2013, Kaka returned to AC Milan again. In 2014, Kaká moved to MLS club Orlando City, where he briefly played for his parent club Sao Paulo until his retirement in December 2017.
