Diego Maradona
Diego Armando Maradona (Spanish: Diego Armando Maradona, October 30, 1960 - November 25, 2020), was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, nicknamed "The King of the Century" and "The God of the Stadium", an Argentine football player and coach, and one of the most influential players in the history of world football. In 1986, Maradona single-handedly led Argentina to its second World Cup championship. He also became the assist king of the World Cup (8 times, but since FIFA’s official count of assists in the World Cup started in 1986, in fact the ball king Pele had a total of 10 assists in four World Cups). At the same time, he set the record for the most dribbles in the World Cup (90 times) and the highest number of violations (60 times). In 1987, he successfully brought the relegation team Naples to the Serie A championship. In 2001, he was named the King of the Century. Maradona can play anywhere in the frontcourt and dribble with his left foot. His dribbling skills are unparalleled in the world, and his shooting skills are also top-notch. After Billy hung up his boots, although excellent stars continued to emerge from all over the world, they could not compare with Billy until the emergence of Maradona, so he was also called the "new king of football." During his professional player career from 1976 to 1997, Maradona successively joined Argentine Youth, Boca Youth, Barcelona, Naples, Sevilla, Newell's Old Boys, and Boca Youth. He has won the Argentine League Championship, the Italian Football League Championship, and the UEFA Cup Championship. During his 17 years with the Argentina national football team (1977-1994), he also won the World Cup and the World Youth Football Championship. In 2001, he was named the "Best Player of the 20th Century" by FIFA. On November 25, 2020, Maradona, who suffered from dilated cardiomyopathy, died of acute pulmonary edema caused by chronic heart failure at the age of 60.
