Shi Tao

Shi Tao (July 25, 1968 -), male, originally from Qingjian, Shaanxi, was born in Yanchi, Ningxia. He is a Chinese journalist, poet, and writer. In 2005, he was charged by the Chinese government with leaking state secrets and sentenced to ten years in prison for sending a government document to an overseas website through Yahoo mailbox. He was released on August 23, 2013.
