Alain de Benoit
Alain de Benoist (French: Alain de Benoist, born December 11, 1943) is a French journalist and political philosopher, a founding member of the New Right movement, and the leader of the ethno-nationalist think tank GRECE. Benoit was primarily influenced by the conservative revolutionary thinkers of Germany, and he opposed Christianity, human rights, neoliberalism, representative democracy, and egalitarianism, as well as the country he saw as embodying and promoting these values—the United States. He constructed a concept of ethnopluralism that relied on the protection and mutual respect of individual and bounded ethnocultural areas. Benoit's work has been influential on the far-right movement in the United States and he gave a speech on identitarianism at a National Policy Institute conference chaired by Richard B. Spencer; however, he distanced himself from the movement.
