Ludwig von Mises
Ludwig Heinrich Edler von Mises (German: Ludwig Heinrich Edler von Mises, September 29, 1881 - October 10, 1973) was an Austrian-Jewish American national, economist, historian, philosopher, writer, and one of the main representatives of market liberalism. He was also a scholar who actively promoted the revival of some ideas of classical liberalism, and is regarded as the founder of neoliberalism. He is also known as the "Dean of the Austrian School of Economics." The theories he created also influenced many famous economists, such as Friedrich Hayek and Murray Rothbard. Mises's economic ideas had a great influence on the rise of laissez-faire capitalism in the mid-twentieth century. In 1982, the Mises Institute was established as an institution for the study and promotion of free market capitalism.
