Alchemist Cleopatra

Report an error

The alchemist Cleopatra (date of birth and death unknown, lived in the 3rd or 4th century), also known as Cleopatra the Goldsmith, was an Egyptian female alchemist and philosopher. She was an alchemical experimenter, studying the weight and other measurements of substances in an attempt to quantify alchemical experiments. Her text was still used in the late Middle Ages and was consulted by other alchemists. Rumor has it that the alchemist Cleopatra was one of the alchemists who successfully discovered the Philosopher's Stone.
