Anselm
Anselm (1033-April 21, 1109), also translated as Anselm, Anselm, was an Italian medieval Catholic cleric, philosopher, and theologian who served as the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1093 to 1109. Known as the last church father and the first scholastic philosopher. Using formal logic to demonstrate Christian orthodoxy, he proposed the "ontological argument" for the existence of God and the "redemption theory" of soteriology, pushing medieval theological issues in a new direction of rational concern.
