Qi Baishi
Qi Baishi (January 1, 1864 - September 16, 1957), whose original name was Qi Chunzhi and whose courtesy name was Wei Qing, was named Lanting by his grandfather. His teacher named him Huang and his nickname was Bisheng. He was also nicknamed Old Man Jiping and Baishi Shanren. He was a native of Xiangtan, Hunan, and a traditional Chinese painting painter. Later generations often omitted the word "shanren", so it was often called "Baishi". Qi Baishi and Zhang Daqian were also called "Southern Zhang and Northern Qi".
