Edward Albee (English: Edward Albee, March 12, 1928 - September 16, 2016) was an American playwright. His most famous works include "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" ", "Zoo Story", "Graceful Balance", "Seascape Painting", etc. His works are rigorously designed, often grim examinations of the modern state. His early work was an Americanization of the theater of the absurd. A new generation of American playwrights, represented by Paula Vogel, admired Albee for reconstructing postwar American comedy in the early 1960s - focusing both on performance techniques and poignant lines. Albee continues to produce new dramas, such as The Goat: or, Who Is Sylvia? (2002).
