Han Bangqing
Han Bangqing (1856-1894) once sent letters under his given name, Ziyun, also signed as Taixian, Dayishanren, Huaye Liannon, Sanqing, from Lou County, Jiangsu Province (now Songjiang District, Shanghai). He lived in Beijing with his father since he was a child. After failing many imperial examinations, he wrote articles for "Shen Bao" in Shanghai. In 1892, he founded China's first novel journal "Hai Qishu", and serialized his novel "Biographies of Shanghai Flowers" in this book. He died of illness shortly after the publication of "Biographies of Flowers on the Sea" at the age of thirty-eight. Sun Jiazhen, who was acquainted with Han in the industry, later mentioned Han's "Biographies of Flowers on the Sea" in his "Notes on Tuixinglu".
