Xu Lizhi — biography

Xu Lizhi (July 28, 1990 - September 30, 2014) was a Chinese poet. Born in a rural family in Jieyang, Guangdong, he worked in Guangzhou and Jieyang after graduating from high school. In February 2011, he entered Shenzhen Foxconn and became an ordinary worker on the production line. After the three-year contract expired in February 2014, he went to Jiangsu to find a job, and soon returned to Shenzhen. On September 26, he signed another three-year labor contract with Foxconn. He fell to his death on September 30, suspected of committing suicide. Xu Lizhi loved poetry, and his works were selected into a collection of poems "New Day" after his death.
