August Pfund
August Herman Pfund (December 28, 1879 - January 4, 1949) was an American physicist and spectroscopist. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, United States in 1879, he discovered the Pfund system of hydrogen atomic spectrum in 1924. "Pfund" is also used to name a unit of mass, 1 pfund = 500 grams.
