Joseph Hooton Taylor (English: Joseph Hooton Taylor, born March 29, 1941), American physicist. Current amateur radio operator, call sign K1JT, and has contributed to modern amateur radio. He and Russell Hulls jointly discovered the first pulsar in history, PSR B1913+16, located in a binary star system, and through in-depth research on it, they discovered indirect quantitative evidence for the existence of gravitational waves for the first time, which was an important verification of Einstein's general theory of relativity. For this, Taylor and Hulse won the 1993 Nobel Prize in Physics.
