Guo Zhengtang — biography

Guo Zhengtang (1964-), born in Ying County, Shanxi Province, is a Chinese geologist. He graduated from Peking University in 1983, majoring in geomorphology and Quaternary geology. The following year, he was sent by the government to study in France. In 1985, he received a master's degree from the Quaternary Institute of the University of Bordeaux in France. In 1990, he received a doctorate in soil science from the Department of Environmental Geology, University of Paris VI. He has been working at the Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Sciences since 1991 and is currently a researcher.
