Sun Tzu was an ancient Chinese mathematician who lived from the Cao Wei to Jin Dynasties from the 3rd to 5th centuries AD. Sun Tzu was interested in astronomy, attempted to develop a calendar, and studied Diophantine's equations. He is the author of Sun Tzu's Suan Jing, which contains the earliest known Chinese remainder theorem.
