Carole Lombard (English: Carole Lombard, real name Jane Alice Peters, October 6, 1908 - January 16, 1942), was born in Indiana, United States, an American film actress and philanthropist who was a child star. Active in the 1930s, she was good at comedy roles and was the top-paid star in Hollywood at that time, more than five times the annual salary of the President of the United States at that time. During World War II in 1942, she traveled around the United States to participate in a war bond sale. On her way home on January 16, her plane crashed into a mountain and she died at the age of 33. (After Gable's death in 1960, 18 years later, Gable's widow, Kay Williams, buried him with him).
