Buster Keaton
Joseph Frank "Buster" Keaton was an American actor, comedian, film director, producer, screenwriter, and stuntman. Best known for his silent films, Keaton also earned the nickname "The Deadpan" for his trademark deadpan, no-nonsense physical comedy style in his films. Film critic Roger Ebert said that Buster Keaton "during the special period from 1920 to 1929, he remained independent of outside influence and made a series of films that made him undoubtedly the greatest actor and director in the history of film." After being hired by MGM, his independence in film production was taken away, which caused his career to enter a low point, and he began to develop a bad habit of alcoholism, which destroyed his family life. It wasn't until the 1940s that Keaton remarried. After that, he revived and once again participated in the shooting of comedy films until his death, for which he won the Oscar for Lifetime Achievement.
