Li Jinshang (1862-1922), a native of Qipao, Xinhui, was the founder of Lee Kum Kee. Li Jinshang left Qipao in his early years and followed the Pearl River to Xiangshan Nanshui. He invented the oyster sauce making method in Xiangshan Nanshui and established Lee Kum Kee in 1888.
