Ludwig Eduard Boltzmann (German: Ludwig Eduard Boltzmann; February 20, 1844 - September 5, 1906) was an Austrian physicist and philosopher. As a physicist, his greatest achievement is the development of statistical mechanics that explains and predicts the physical properties of matter (such as viscosity, heat conduction, diffusion, etc.) through atomic properties (such as atomic weight, charge, structure, etc.), and based on statistical concepts, he perfectly explained the second law of thermodynamics.
