Pierre de Fermat (French: Pierre de Fermat, 1601 - January 12, 1665), also translated as Fermat, was a French lawyer and amateur mathematician (also known as the master of mathematics and the king of amateur mathematicians). His achievements in mathematics are no less than those of professional mathematicians. He seems to be most interested in number theory, and he also contributed to the establishment of modern calculus.
