Yuan Longping
Yuan Longping (September 7, 1930 - May 22, 2021), Han nationality, native of De'an, Jiangxi Province, was an expert in hybrid rice breeding in China, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a foreign academician of the American Academy of Sciences. His research on hybrid rice varieties from the 1960s to the 1970s improved grain production in mainland China and around the world, and he was known as the "Father of Hybrid Rice".
